About the Author
Diane Hagemeister

Pocket Quick Bread was created to bring in that "little extra money" to pay for work on a house I was buying. I'm still working on that house and this recipe book is still helping. Your purchase of this book might help pay for a two-by-four or a peony. I hope you enjoy your recipes as much as I enjoy seeing the progress on my little old house.

When I'm not painting or hammering, planting or hauling, I also work on several novels. You may wonder why I don't settle on one and finish it? Well, I'm a firm believer that even fiction has a responsibility to begin with correct information before the author asks the reader to suspend that disbelief and accept the "what if" premise. Therefore, I have to set aside one story idea when I reach a research impasse and pick up something else and work forward. As any writer will tell you, sometimes the characters get stubborn and won't tell you their stories, and that creates yet another wait. For a long time, I had a mystery story but no character to be the crime solver.

I now have that crime solver who has shown herself to have a strong soul and several stories to tell. I am also blessed with the explanation for a serious decision another character must make in a different, stand-alone story.

Please keep visiting this site for new works by myself and the other writers who homestead this cyberspace. Reading is our best means of information and communication because it is adaptable and portable.
